Our story / la nostra storia

Comfortable Dutch design and Italian elegance are virtually inseparable at no man’s land. The story of Dutch-Italian brand no man’s land started in the ‘90s with the introduction of a warm and stylish merino wool turtleneck. In the Netherlands, this quality material was still relatively unknown at the time. This changed rapidly once the word spread about how comfortable this wool wears. Now, years later, this turtleneck is still one of the bestsellers in our collection.

They discovered the manufacturing knowhow in Northern ltaly, where the tradition of craftsmanship comes together with modern production techniques

no man’s land is a European brand. The main office is based in Marken, while the design studio is located near the Italian city of Venice. Almost all our materials are of European origin and the brand works with small local, family-owned Italian producers, in full compliance with European guidelines on labour, environment and consumer protection. The head designer works very closely with the producers during the design and production process, which guarantees the highest quality. Pure materials, made of the finest yarn, are the essence of the timeless basics in every collection.

The founders / i fondatori

Dutch national Anet Ooijman and Italian-born Salvatore Cascone founded Cascone & Co in 1983. At first, they operated as an agency with several Italian fashion brands. After ten years of experience in the Italian fashion industry, they started developing their own clothing brand: no man’s land. From that moment on, the two have been commuting between two aqueous areas, Marken in the Netherlands and Venice in Italy, to present the best collection – every single season.

Those who have had the pleasure of visiting an Italian family, will most likely recall their consideration and passion for beautiful produce. Because family members only want the best for each other, they serve wine produced from the best local grapes and they share their artisanal freshly-baked bread with love. It is this same warmth and dedication that is characteristic of no man’s land. We only want the best for our retailers and customers. After all, we consider them family.
