Italian Design: Atollo by Vico Magistretti

06 Mar 2017

Alongside the Mediterranean touch within our own collections, we love to see it in our interior as well. Therefore we’re putting our favorite design items in the spotlights! We hereby present you the beautiful Atollo lamp by Vico Magistretti for Oluce.

You might be familiar with this design icon. The table lamp has been shown in many collections of design museums around the world. The Atollo is a sculpture and a piece of art. The combination of steel and glass creates a powerful entity.
Designed in 1977 during the peak of Italian modernistic design, the lamp of Vico Magistretti immediately became a great success. The design is as firm as Magistretti and his colleagues demanded, but at the same time a lightweight, which was very uncommon in that period.

The Atollo lamp is the perfect example of gracious expression, which is something we aim for with our Italian designs as well.
