Introducing an Italian master's signature style.
Carlo Scarpa is one of our favourite architects, with who we share our love for craftsmanship, materials and Italian design.

Carlo Scarpa (1906-1978)

Scarpa was born and raised in Venice and his most famous works are located within a radius of 50 kilometers around Vicenza. Scarpa is an esthete with an ample knowledge of materials and a great love for hand-made elements. Looking at an architectural piece of Scarpa, at first sight, it are the details that demand all your attention.

Complementary to his renowned career in architecture, Scarpa held the position of creative director of Venini Glassworks on the Venetian island of Murano for fifteen years. Through his experiments with material, colour and glassblowing techniques he gave prominence to the company. He developed ways to enrich the glass with its characteristic vivid and dynamic form - up until today the most desirable qualities of Murano glass.
